Lutterworth is twinned with Chambourcy, a town of about 5000 people situated about 30 km to the west of Paris. First contacts were made in 1996 between the two councils. The twinning idea was then developed by the Lutterworth town council. The Association was later formed in August 1998. We continue to receive very valuable support from the Lutterworth town council.

The Mayors signed a Charter during a ceremony in Lutterworth on the 1st May 1999. Another ceremony was held in Chambourcy on 18th March 2000, which was also attended by representatives from Chambourcy's other twin town, Elbingerode in Germany.
